  • If you picked URL Prefix you will see two verification method, one is called recommended verification method and the other is called other verification method.
  • Under other verification methods click HTML Tag and copy the tag
  • Once you’ve copied the tag you only need the part that comes after the equals to sign (=); the texts and numbers that are in quotations (“ “) you don’t need the quotations, just the texts and numbers in them.
  • Go to your website site settings, under SEO you’ll see a space labeled Google site verification ID. Paste what you’ve copied there.

Step 4: Submit Your Sitemap

  • After verification, navigate to the “Sitemaps” section in Search Console.
  • Enter your sitemap URL (usually yourwebsite.com and click “Submit.” This helps Google crawl your site more effectively.

Step 5: Complete Verification

  • Return to Google Search Console and click the “Verify” button under the Other verification methods.. If everything is set up correctly, you should see a success message.
